    1. Who looks after your data

The controller of your personal data is LDR Ecom Group, which runs the Rêve de Veilleuse shop, 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris, France. For any question about your data, email us at support@revedeveilleuse.com.

For customers in the United Kingdom, we process your data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Our shop runs on Shopify, which hosts the website and processes some data on its own behalf. Section 7 explains this shared responsibility.

This policy explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and what rights you have.

    2. The data we collect

We only collect what we need to sell, deliver and answer your questions. Depending on how you use the website:

    • Your contact details: first name, surname, delivery address, billing address, email address. We only ask for your phone number if the carrier needs it for delivery.
    • Your order data: items ordered, amount, date, purchase history, returns and exchanges.
    • Your payment data: payment method used, transaction confirmation, last four digits of your card. We never have access to your full card number: it is handled directly by the payment provider.
    • Your account, if you create one: login, encrypted password, preferences.
    • Your messages to us: the content of your emails and messages to customer service.
    • Your browsing data: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, products viewed or added to your basket.

    3. Where this data comes from

    • From you, when you order, create an account, sign up to our emails or write to us.
    • From your use of the website, automatically, through cookies and similar technologies.
    • From our service providers, when they process data on our behalf, for example a carrier confirming a delivery.

    4. Why we use it, and on what lawful basis

    • Processing and delivering your order, handling returns, refunds and claims. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
    • Managing your customer account. Lawful basis: performance of the contract.
    • Answering your messages and providing after-sales service. Lawful basis: performance of the contract, or our legitimate interest in replying if you're not yet a customer.
    • Sending you marketing emails. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with one click from any of our emails. If you're already a customer, we may email you about similar products, with the same right to opt out at any time.
    • Measuring website traffic and understanding what works. Lawful basis: your consent, given through the cookie banner.
    • Personalising the advertising you see elsewhere online. Lawful basis: your consent.
    • Preventing fraud and securing payments. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in avoiding fraudulent payments.
    • Keeping invoices and responding to requests from authorities. Lawful basis: our legal obligations, in particular accounting and tax obligations.

We do not make any automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

    5. How long we keep it

    • Order data, invoices and accounting records: 10 years from the end of the financial year, as required by the accounting rules that apply to us.
    • Customer account: 3 years from your last order or last contact with us. After that, the account is deleted or anonymised.
    • Prospects and email subscribers: 3 years from your last contact with us, or until you unsubscribe if earlier.
    • Customer service messages: 3 years after the last message.
    • Cookies: no more than 13 months, and 6 months for remembering your cookie choices.
    • Data relating to a dispute: until all appeal periods have expired.

    6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We only share it with the service providers we need to run the shop, and only for what they have to do:

    • Shopify, for hosting the website, managing orders and card payments.
    • PayPal, if you choose this payment method.
    • Klaviyo, for sending our order and marketing emails.
    • 17TRACK, for tracking your parcels.
    • Google Analytics, for measuring website traffic, only if you have consented.
    • The carrier and our logistics partner handling your parcel, who receive your delivery details.

Your data may also be disclosed if the law requires it, in response to a court order, or in connection with a transaction involving our company, such as a sale, in which case the buyer would be bound by the same obligations.

    7. Our relationship with Shopify

The website is hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes information about your visit to provide and improve its service. For certain advanced features, Shopify acts as a controller on its own behalf, not on ours: in that case, you exercise your rights with Shopify.

You can read Shopify's consumer privacy policy and exercise your rights through Shopify's privacy portal.

    8. Cookies

A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit the website. Some are strictly necessary: without them, the basket doesn't work and you can't place an order. These don't require your consent. All others, for analytics and advertising, are only set with your consent.

Continuing to browse does not count as consent. You accept or refuse using the banner shown when you arrive, and you can change your mind at any time from the Your privacy choices page. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and doesn't stop you from ordering.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we automatically treat it as a refusal for that device.

    9. International transfers

As our company is based in France, your data is processed in the European Economic Area, which the UK recognises as providing adequate protection. Some of our service providers are based outside the UK and the EEA, for example in the United States or Canada. Where your data is transferred to them, we make sure it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by appropriate safeguards approved under UK law, such as the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

    10. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the following rights:

    • Access: to know what data we hold about you and get a copy.
    • Rectification: to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
    • Erasure: to ask us to delete your data, unless the law requires us to keep it, for example invoices.
    • Restriction: to ask us to pause processing while something is checked.
    • Objection: to object to processing based on our legitimate interests and, in particular, to direct marketing, at any time and without giving a reason.
    • Portability: to receive the data you gave us in a reusable format, or ask us to send it to another provider.
    • Withdrawing consent: at any time, for processing that relies on it. This doesn't affect what was lawfully done before.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@revedeveilleuse.com. We reply within one month. This can be extended by two further months if your request is complex, in which case we'll let you know. We may need to verify your identity before replying. Exercising your rights is free.

    11. Complaints

If you're not happy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF, or online at ico.org.uk.

    12. Children

Our products are designed for children, but our shop is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal data, email us and we'll delete it.

    13. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data: encrypted connections, access limited to those who need it, and service providers chosen for their safeguards. No system is completely secure, so please don't send us sensitive information through an unsecured channel. If a data breach is likely to result in a high risk to you, we'll let you know, as the law requires.

    14. Links to other websites

The website may link to websites we don't run. We don't control their content or their data practices, so please read their own privacy policies before sharing anything with them.

    15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, in particular if our tools or obligations change. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with its date at the top. If we make a significant change, we'll let you know.
